Barona Beach was first visualized by Mr. Barone when he purchased the Happy Valley Campground in 1979. He dreamed of a resort that was reminiscent of the Tuscan Valley, a dream that realized itself a quarter of a century later as a luxury destination resort.

Happy Valley Resort opened in 1979, and for 26 years was the ultimate camping destination in the Okanagan Valley. Truly magnificent camping, an idyllic location and plentiful apples, pears and cherries--somewhat like being in Eden.

It is estimated that over the course of 26 years 7,500 people visited annually and more than 50,000 different families enjoyed a memorable vacation. Many memories and family traditions are fondly remembered by past guests, some of whom have purchased units in the resort so they may continue to return for enjoyable vacations with their friends and families.
